About Wapocoma Campground

Located along the South Branch of the Potomac River, 5 miles south of Romney, West Virginia in beautiful and historic Hampshire County. We offer over 255 sites with an abundance of shade trees, on the ridge overlooking the South Branch River Valley and in the meadow. All campsites are within walking distance to over 2,000 feet of natural shoreline on the South Branch of the Potomac River. Enjoy yourself camping, walking/bicycling on our spacious grounds of over 100 acres. Bring a small boat, canoe, tube or raft and enjoy the river swimming or fishing. We are ideally located for the float trip enthusiast, as the South Branch has numerous "FREE" drop-in access areas along the river. Visit the historic town of ROMNEY, Ride the Potomac Eagle Excursion Train, or take a "day trip" to Seneca Rocks, Smoke Hole Caverns, Dolly Sods, Canaan Valley, Blackwater Falls; just to mention a few of the many sites in the surrounding area.

Campground Policies and Rules

We accept Cash and Check (NO Credit or Debit at this time.)
Registration is limited to two adults and three children
$40.00 service charge for all returned checks.
Checkout time is 2pm
Visiting hours are 7am to 7pm
Quiet time is 11pm to 7am. Please keep in mind that this is a family campground, loud noise, excessive radio volume and foul language will not be permitted.
No loitering on the playground, basketball court or pavilion after 11pm.
Parents are responsible for the safety and care of their children at all times.
Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult when on the Playground.
The speed limit is 10 miles per hour. Please assist us with reminding those who are non compliant. If a camper persists in exceeding the speed limit then he/she will be asked to park their vehicle or leave the premises.
Only licensed drivers are permitted to operate a vehicle, motor bike or golf cart.
NO ATV's or Dirt Bikes are permitted
Lights required on bicycles and golf carts after dark.
Only one of the following is allowed per lot: Motorhome, Camper, Van or Tent.
A small pup tent is permitted for children
Limit of 2 vehicles per lot
Limit of 2 pets per lot, NO Pit Bull Species permitted. Pets must be secured and not left unattended. Pets are not permitted in the bathhouse. Please dispose of your pet waste properly.
Swim at your own risk! No lifeguard on duty. Please keep in mind that the river currents and depth vary seasonally. Swim with caution.
All trash is to be bagged and tied securely and dropped off at the trash station.
Dish water and drain water must be disposed of at one of the dump stations.

** All Policy rules are enforced. Violators may be asked to leave the campground with no refund.**
