With over 2,000 ft of shoreline, Wapocoma Campground is positioned between two sets of rapids. We offer some of the most enjoyable fishing opportunities. The area between these rapids looks like a large lake, as the opposite shoreline is 300+ ft across. Flowing slowly during normal weather conditions, the river is ideal fishing for "Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Sunfish, Redeye Rockbass, Catfish, Carp and an occasional Trout." We are ideally located for FLOAT TRIP enthusiasts. Above our campground on South
Branch River Road, are numerous "FREE" river access drop-in areas. These areas are maintained, with parking lots and convenient river access.

Recommended Float Trips:

South Branch WMA to Harmissions by (Trough Store) 7 miles. This is a good day trip through the beautiful TROUGH region. Stunning outcrops of cliffs on both sides, astounding boulder formations, good fishing and most Eagle sightings are on this trip!

Harmissions to Stoney Run--approx. 1.5 miles Stoney Run to Wapocoma Campground--approx. 4.5 miles. This is a good day trip through the tranquil valley bottom. Some slow moving areas, good swimming holes and good fishing.

Wapocoma Campground down river to US50 Bridge 4.27 miles, there is a "FREE" access area under the bridge. A scenic float through the valley with some slow moving areas, a few good swimming holes, and good fishing.
